Lily (Lilium) ‘Tropical Joy’ is a compact Asiatic lily from the Joy family, selected for bold colour and a strong, tidy habit in pots and borders. Its flowers glow in deep red with vivid orange “blazes,” creating a hot, tropical accent that instantly energizes summer container displays and front-of-border plantings. The outward- to slightly upward-facing blooms make the plant look full and decorative from every angle, even in a single pot. Despite its intense colouring, it blends easily with bright greens and cool-toned companions, adding a punchy, modern finish to mixed summer designs.
The plant grows to a height of about 40–60 cm (16–24 inches) and produces showy flowers with an estimated diameter of about 12–15 cm. Its fiery blooms rise above compact green foliage on sturdy stems, giving a well-balanced, boutique look in containers and making it a useful cut flower at the first-bud-opening stage. Flowering is in summer, and it performs best with evenly moist (not wet), well-drained growing media in full sun to partial sun.
