Lilium 'Orfeo' is a striking TA hybrid lily known for its rich, deep red flowers, often leaning toward purple-red, with a satiny finish that looks elegant in borders and bouquets. This variety is also valued for its sturdy growth and strong upright form, making it a reliable accent in mixed plantings. Its rich color pairs beautifully with white, blush pink, and fresh green companions, and it also looks great in a cohesive color scheme. Use it as a repeating accent across a border for a unified, luxurious look from mid-summer.
The plants typically reach 90-130 cm (35-51 in) and bloom in mid- to late summer (July-August). Individual flowers can reach 15-20 cm in diameter, creating a bold, high-impact display on sturdy upright stems and making 'Orfeo' a great choice for cutting. In the garden, lilies grow best in well-drained soil, and raised beds help if your soil is heavy.
