Blueberry ‘Bluejay’ is a reliable, productive blueberry variety valued for its generous crops of sweet, flavourful berries and strong garden performance. The berries ripen in mid-season and are perfect for eating fresh, baking, smoothies, and freezing, while the shrub also looks attractive in borders with its neat, leafy growth. Like most blueberries, it offers extra ornamental value with seasonal foliage colour, making it a great edible plant for mixed garden designs.
The plant typically grows to a height of 150–200 cm (59–79 inches) and forms a sturdy, upright shrub that carries heavy clusters of medium-to-large blueberries. For best results, grow it in a sunny position in acidic, well-drained soil (ericaceous conditions) and keep the root zone consistently moist but not waterlogged; mulching with pine bark or other acidic organic matter helps maintain suitable soil conditions. Planting near another compatible blueberry variety can improve pollination and boost yields, and annual pruning in late winter helps keep the bush vigorous and productive.

To guarantee the best result and quality of our plants and bulbs, we dispatch all our orders at the right planting period. We monitor harvests in The Netherlands and weather conditions across Europe and start shipping our orders according to the following schedule:
- Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 23 March until 1 July.
- Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
- Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
- Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
