Convallaria majalis ‘Hardwick Hall’ is a refined lily of the valley that brings a soft, romantic accent to spring shade gardens. Its delicately coloured blooms in creamy white to beige tones appear in graceful clusters and combine beautifully with ferns, hostas, and other woodland perennials. Loved by pollinators, it helps bring extra movement and life to quiet, shaded corners of the garden. This variety is also valued for cutting, adding a gentle, classic touch to small spring posies.
The plant grows to a height of 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) and produces dainty flowers with a diameter of 0–5 cm in white, beige, and creamy tones. Its elegant blooms rise above lush green foliage, making it ideal for naturalising under trees and shrubs, edging shaded paths, and filling woodland-style borders with fresh spring interest. Flowering starts in May, while planting is best done at the end of November, and the plant performs best in partial shade to shade in humus-rich, evenly moist but well-drained soil.
