Lily (Lilium) ‘P540’ (POR) ‘Laan wit’ is an elegant pot Oriental lily grown from bulbs, selected for a neat, compact habit and a clean, luminous look in containers. Its flowers open in pure white to creamy-white tones, creating a classic “fresh” accent for patios, balconies, and the front of summer borders. The refined colouring suits monochrome designs and looks especially crisp with silver foliage, lavender-blue companions, or dark-leaved plants for contrast. As a pot type, it stays decorative and well-proportioned even in a single container, while planting several bulbs together creates a dense, boutique-style display.
The plant grows to a height of about 45–65 cm (18–26 inches) and produces large Oriental-lily blooms with an estimated diameter of about 15–20 cm (6–8 inches). Its luminous flowers sit above compact green foliage, giving a polished, high-end look in pots and tubs without taking up much visual space. Flowering is typically in summer, and ‘P540’ performs best in sun to light partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil or a free-draining potting mix kept evenly moist, then left to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can recharge.
