Lily (Lilium) ‘Sweet Sugar’ is a highly decorative Asiatic hybrid prized for its delicate, pastel-pink base colour, heavily sprinkled with raspberry to deep purple speckles. The dense spotting intensifies toward the centre, giving each bloom a textured, “sugar-sprinkled” look that perfectly matches the name. Large, cup-shaped flowers with fresh, juicy-looking petals create a bright, playful accent in borders and cutting gardens. With little to no fragrance and typically pollen-free blooms (no anthers), it’s an excellent choice for clean, hassle-free bouquets and indoor arrangements.
The plant grows to a height of about 100–120 cm (39–47 inches) and produces large flowers with a diameter of about 15–20 cm. Strong, upright stems and dense, dark green foliage form a crisp backdrop that makes the pink-and-speckled blooms stand out beautifully. Flowering is typically in June–July, and ‘Sweet Sugar’ performs best in full sun to light partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil kept evenly moist during active growth, then allowed to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can recharge.
