Lily (Lilium) Little Ireland

Lily (Lilium) 'Little Ireland' is a compact Oriental lily that’s especially well-suited to container growing and small garden spaces. Its neat proportions make it easy to use on patios, balconies, and at the front of summer borders where taller lilies would feel oversized. Despite its smaller size, it still creates a bold, showpiece effect when several bulbs are planted together. It’s a smart option when you want the “Oriental lily look” but need a plant that stays tidy and manageable.

The plant grows to a height of 35–45 cm (14–18 inches) and produces large, fragrant Oriental-lily blooms about 14–18 cm in diameter in a clean white to soft white‑pink bicolour effect. Its bold, upward-facing flowers sit above compact green foliage, making it perfect for pots and tubs, balcony boxes, and neat front-of-border planting where you want a big lily look without a tall plant. Flowering typically runs from July to August (outdoors), and ‘Little Ireland’ performs best in full sun to light partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil kept evenly moist, avoiding waterlogging—especially in containers.
