The plants typically reach 20–100 cm (8–39 inches) in height and produce flowers around 2–10 cm across, depending on the varieties included. Expect a multi-colour palette and a changing display from spring to autumn, as flowering times are staggered across the mix and influenced by local conditions. Plant in sun to part shade (depending on the plants in the set) in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost, and water regularly after planting until roots establish. Afterwards, water mainly during dry periods (especially in the first growing season), remove faded blooms where applicable, cut back dead stems at the end of the season, and divide mature clumps every few years to maintain vigour and improve flowering.
