Rose ‘Gabriel Oak’ is a richly coloured garden rose admired for its deep, velvety blooms and elegant, classic flower form. The intense red-to-burgundy tones bring warmth and depth to mixed borders and rose beds, and the flowers make striking cut stems for more dramatic bouquets. It’s a strong choice when you want a sophisticated, modern look with clear colour impact. Pair it with pale pinks, soft apricots, or silvery foliage plants to make the dark blooms look even more luxurious.
The plant grows to a height of about 125 cm (49 inches) and produces generous, velvety blooms with a diameter of around 10–15 cm in deep red to burgundy shades that may vary with weather and maturity. The classic flower form gives the plant a refined presence in the border and provides standout stems for vase arrangements where you want richness and contrast. Flowering typically runs from late spring to autumn with repeat flushes when spent blooms are removed. Rose ‘Gabriel Oak’ performs best in full sun (around 5–6 hours of direct light) in fertile, well-drained soil improved with compost, with regular watering while establishing, feeding after the first flush, and pruning in late winter to encourage strong, healthy new growth.
