Lily (Lilium) 'White Balloons' is a sophisticated bulb-grown lily with pure white, generously sized flowers that brighten summer borders. Its clean, luminous color makes it an easy match for both pastel plantings and bold, dark-leaved companions. The blooms are pleasantly fragrant, so it’s a great choice near patios and seating areas. The flowers open from plump buds into wide, star-shaped blooms that look crisp and modern in bouquets. Plants typically reach about 90–110 cm (35–43 inches) and look best when planted in small groups for a strong, unified accent. Grow it in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil (slightly acidic is ideal), keeping moisture moderate and even during active growth. Plant the bulbs about 15–20 cm deep and allow roughly 20 cm spacing for a tidy, well-ventilated clump. After flowering, let the foliage yellow naturally before cutting it back, so the bulbs can recharge for next season.
