Ranunculus and Freesia Collection is a beautifully coordinated mix of ranunculus corms and freesia bulbs, selected for an elegant spring-to-early-summer display with rich colour and a refined, boutique-style finish. Ranunculus brings full, rose-like blooms with a lush, layered look, while freesia adds airy flower sprays and a lovely fragrance that makes the planting feel especially “garden-fresh.” Together they suit borders, raised beds, and containers, and they’re also an excellent choice for cutting when you want a steady supply of stems for fresh bouquets. With both texture and scent in one mix, this collection creates a polished display that looks intentional even in a small space.
The plants grow to a height of about 25–50 cm (10–20 inches) and produce blooms with an approximate diameter of about 4–10 cm, depending on the varieties included. The combination of dense, layered ranunculus flowers and graceful freesia sprays gives a balanced look with both fullness and lightness in the same planting. Flowering is typically from spring to early summer, and the collection performs best in sun to light partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil kept evenly moist during active growth, then allowed to die back naturally after flowering so the bulbs/corms can recharge.

Hoe te planten - Ranunculus and Freesia Collection
Plant- & Verzorgingsinstructies
Ranonkels zorgen voor unieke, gevulde bloemen en zijn ideaal voor borders, potten en als snijbloem. Ze zijn eenvoudig te kweken en bieden een prachtige bloemenzee mits op de juiste diepte en plek geplant.
- Planttijd: Plant de knollen in het voorjaar, van maart tot mei (na de nachtvorst). De bloeitijd valt over het algemeen in mei tot juli.
- Standplaats & grond: Kies een plek in de volle zon of lichte halfschaduw. Plant in rijke, losse en goed doorlatende grond. Vermijd plekken waar water blijft staan.
- Plantdiepte & afstand: Laat de knollen voor het planten enkele uren weken in lauw water en plaats ze met de "klauwtjes" naar beneden. Plant ranonkelknollen, maat 5/6 cm, ongeveer 5–8 cm diep en 10–15 cm uit elkaar.
- Bewatering: Geef water na het planten en houd de grond licht vochtig tijdens de groei. Voorkom dat de grond te nat blijft.
- Kweken in potten: Gebruik potten of balkonbakken met afwateringsgaten en een voedzame, goed doorlatende potgrond.
- Na de bloei: Verwijder uitgebloeide bloemen, maar laat het blad staan totdat dit natuurlijk vergeelt en afsterft.
- Overwinteren: Graaf de knollen voor de vorst op in koudere regio's en bewaar ze op een koele, droge plek.
