Dahlia ‘Miss Sophie’ is a striking, long-flowering dahlia with an unusual bloom shape and a refined two-tone effect. The flowers have a bright white centre and petals edged in rich purple, creating a crisp contrast that looks fresh and elegant all summer. Dark-green, smooth foliage adds extra декоративність and makes the blooms stand out even more in borders. This variety is also well suited for cutting, bringing a sophisticated accent to bouquets.
The plant grows to a height of 90–120 cm (35–47 inches) and forms a strong, bushy clump that benefits from support as the stems carry large flowers. Blooms measure about 10–15 cm in diameter and open continuously from July to October, so regular deadheading helps keep the plant flowering and tidy. Plant tubers in May after the risk of frost has passed, in a sunny, wind-sheltered spot with fertile, well-drained soil, then water consistently without waterlogging and feed during active growth. In autumn, cut back the stems and lift the tubers for cool, frost-free storage if winters are cold.
