Why plants from the Netherlands?
The Netherlands has a long tradition of flower-bulb cultivation, combining specialist breeding and dedicated inspections. Growers produce varieties that differ in colour, flower shape and blooming period.
The Dutch Flower Bulb Inspection Service (BKD) inspects bulb crops, including testing for viruses, bacteria and nematodes.
How we work with growers
The condition of planting material matters at every step. Around 90% of our purchasing is directly from farmers. This is how we work with suppliers and prepare customer orders.
We work with growers of bulbs and perennials and inspect planting material at their farms two or three times a year.
We use storage systems adapted to the needs of different plant groups.
We select the varieties and quantities required for each customer's order.
We use our packing approach for plant transport. Dispatch is planned weather and planting seasons; estimated timing is shown on product pages or in order confirmations.
Our partners
Our supplier network includes specialists in different groups of flower bulbs and perennial plants.
Quality control
Planting material passes through four quality-control stages before reaching our customers.
Checking the variety, size and condition of the planting material.
Looking for damage, rot, disease symptoms and excessive dryness.
Checking plant condition, temperature and humidity as appropriate for each crop.
Verifying variety, quantity, labelling and readiness for transport.
