How to Plant - Weigela Picobella Rosa
Weigela planting instructions and tips
Choose a sunny to partially shady spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
Dig a hole that is two times as wide and slightly deeper than the root ball of the weigela plant.
Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
Place the weigela plant in the hole and fill the hole halfway with soil.
Gently tamp the soil down and water thoroughly.
Add the remaining soil and firm it around the base of the plant.
Water the plant again and add a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
Prune the weigela plant in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches.
Fertilize the plant with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and midsummer.
