Product Description - Allium Ambassador
The Allium 'Ambassador' (Allium 'Ambassador') is one of the finest hybrid giant ornamental onions, introduced in the early 2000s, celebrated for its enormous, perfectly spherical flower heads up to 20 cm (8 inches) across in a rich, glowing deep violet-purple that holds its intense colour perfectly for weeks. The tightly packed, star-shaped florets create a stunning globe on tall, sturdy stems, remaining attractive even as they dry.
The plant forms vigorous clumps of strap-like, grey-green foliage growing to a height of 120–150 cm (4–5 feet) with a spread of 30–50 cm. Its strong stems never flop and show outstanding resistance to wind and rain. Ideal for back-of-border drama, mixed perennial beds, prairie-style plantings, or as breathtaking long-lasting cut flowers (fresh or dried).
