Product Description - Allium Karataviense
Allium karataviense (Allium karataviense), commonly known as the Turkestan onion or Kara Tau garlic, is a striking species native to Central Asia, celebrated for its large, perfectly spherical flower heads 15–25 cm across in soft silvery-lilac to pale pinkish-grey that hold their subtle colour beautifully for 4–5 weeks. The wide, arching, blue-grey leaves — often beautifully marked with purple-red edges — spread dramatically at ground level, creating a bold foliage rosette before and during flowering.
The plant forms low, compact clumps growing to a height of only 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) with a spread of 30–40 cm, making it one of the most architectural dwarf alliums. Ideal for rock gardens, gravel plantings, front-of-border accents, or containers where its sculptural leaves and floating globes can be admired up close.
