Planting & Care Instructions

Amaryllis are stunning indoor-flowering bulbs ideal for indoor pots and as gorgeous cut flowers. They are easy to grow, produce long-lasting blooms, and feature a reusable bulb that can return and flower again when cared for properly.

• Planting time: Plant the bulbs indoors from October to February. For best growth, place the pot in a warm room (20–25 °C). Amaryllis generally bloom from December to April, depending on the exact planting time.
• Position & soil: Choose a position that receives bright, indirect light. Plant the bulb in a rich, well-drained potting mix.
• Planting depth: Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. Plant shallowly so that the bulb is halfway above the soil surface.
• Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist once active growth begins, but strictly avoid overwatering to prevent the bulb from rotting.
• Growing in containers: Use indoor pots with proper drainage holes. Amaryllis prefer to be somewhat root-bound, so choose a pot that leaves just a few centimeters of space between the bulb and the edge of the pot.
• After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but leave the foliage in place. Continue watering and providing bright light so the bulb can store energy for the following season.
• Returning each year: Because it is a reusable bulb, the Amaryllis can multiply or return to flower in subsequent years when left in suitable conditions and allowed a proper dormancy period.

To guarantee the best result and quality of our plants and bulbs, we dispatch all our orders at the right planting period. We monitor harvests in The Netherlands and weather conditions across Europe and start shipping our orders according to the following schedule:

• Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 23 March until 1 July.
• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
