Product Description - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Royal Velvet
Amaryllis Royal Velvet tells the story of the interaction between plants and people. Giving large, burgundy-coloured velvet flowers up to twice a year, the plant demands attention and care.

Amaryllis does not tolerate excessive moisture or water on the bulb, but requires regular watering. Sunny locations with no draughts or winds are best for active flower growth. The indoor plant prefers sandy-earthy soils and resting, so after the last petals have fallen off, the Royal Velvet amaryllis should be dug up and placed in a cool, damp, dark place. After resting, the plant can be returned to the soil. With sufficient light, the dagger-shaped leaves will quickly grow above the bulb and then 1 or 2 arrows will emerge.
A single flower stalk will produce 4-5 bell-shaped flowers. There is little or no fragrance in these flowers.

How to Plant - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Royal Velvet
Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.

Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.

Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.

Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.

Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.

Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.

As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
