Product Description - Anemone De Caen Collection (25 bulbs)
The Anemone De Caen Collection is a delightful assortment of four vibrant anemone varieties, featuring pure white, soft pink, delicate lilac, and bold red blooms, creating a harmonious and eye-catching spring display. These single-flowered, poppy-like blossoms with velvety petals and striking black centers exude charm and elegance, perfect for borders, rock gardens, containers, or fresh-cut bouquets. Their cheerful colors attract pollinators and add a whimsical touch to early-season gardens.
Each variety grows to a height of 25–35 cm (10–14 inches) with a spread of 15–20 cm. The flowers, measuring 4–6 cm in diameter, bloom profusely from early to late spring, set against fern-like, bright green foliage. How to Plant - Anemone De Caen Collection (25 bulbs)
Planting & Care Instructions
Anemones are charming spring- to early summer-flowering bulbs ideal for garden borders, pots and cut flower arrangements. Low-maintenance and winter-hardy, they produce vibrant blooms year after year when provided with suitable growing conditions.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground freezes. Flowering time generally occurs from May to June.
- Preparation: Soak the bulbs in water for 10–12 hours before planting to help break dormancy and encourage root growth.
- Position & soil: Choose a sunny position or partial shade. Plant in loose, well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: For standard anemone bulbs, size 5/6 cm, plant approximately 3–5 cm deep and 10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water moderately after planting, especially when the soil is dry. Additional watering during autumn is usually unnecessary. Avoid waterlogged soil.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Anemones are winter-hardy perennials that naturally return and bloom for many years when conditions are suitable.
