About Asparagus ‘Glolim’ – Plants and Vegetables
Asparagus ‘Glolim’ is a premium variety known for its high yield, uniform spears, and exceptional flavor. The spears are a beautiful bright green and are known for their tenderness and sweet taste. This variety is highly disease-resistant, making it a favorite for gardeners looking for a reliable and productive asparagus plant. ‘Glolim’ has an early harvest, ensuring you enjoy fresh spears as one of the first vegetables of the spring season. With proper care, this asparagus variety can produce a bountiful harvest for up to 15–20 years, making it a long-term investment for your garden.
How to Plant Asparagus ‘Glolim’?
Plant Asparagus ‘Glolim’ in well-drained, fertile soil with a slightly alkaline to neutral pH. Select a sunny spot that receives at least 8 hours of direct sunlight per day for optimal growth. Dig trenches about 20 cm deep, spacing the plants 30–45 cm apart to ensure good airflow and prevent overcrowding. Place the crowns 5–8 cm below the soil surface and lightly cover them with soil. Water regularly to maintain moisture without waterlogging the soil. Applying mulch around the plants will help retain moisture, suppress weeds, and protect the roots in colder months. Fertilize in early spring for healthy growth and a plentiful harvest.
