Product Description - Begonia Double Scarlet
Begonia ‘Double Scarlet’ is a classic tuberous begonia that produces lush, fully double scarlet-red blooms for months, bringing intense colour to containers, window boxes, and shaded patio displays. Its rich red flowers sit above attractive green foliage and create a bold, elegant look that pairs well with silver-leaved plants and other summer bedding companions. This variety is also a great choice for brightening semi-shaded corners with long-lasting seasonal colour.
The plant grows to a height of about 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) and produces generous double flowers that can reach up to around 15 cm in diameter. Its showy scarlet blooms are held on compact, bushy growth, making it ideal for pots and tubs, balcony boxes, and neat front-of-border plantings where you want strong colour without excessive height. Flowering typically runs from June to October, and tuberous begonias perform best in partial shade to shade in fertile, well-drained soil kept evenly moist (but not waterlogged).
