This is one of our most popular varieties of Begonia corms. It captures the heart at first sight. Its flowers have luminous yellow petals with crimson-red edges and a red centre. A real charmer! Plant this plant in a prominent place where you can enjoy its flowers.
'Begonia Picoti yellow-red' grows to a height of up to 40 cm. It blooms very lushly and continuously from early summer to mid-autumn. Its flowers are large in size and terry-rose in shape. The petals are satiny and slightly wavy. Flower size reaches up to 15-20 cm in diameter. The flowers are not only very beautiful but also fragrant. They emit a light delicate fragrance. Each flower stalk blooms for 15-25 days. The leaves are dark green in colour, with serrated edges and are very delicate. They are sensitive to moisture (brown spots appear) and direct sunlight.
This begonia is effective in borders, flower beds, pots and flower boxes. It does not like cold weather. Sudden changes in temperature will cause the leaves to fall off. It can be planted in containers as well as in the open ground. The outdoor planting density is 9 tubers per square metre. The place for planting should be well sunlit, but direct rays should be avoided. In summer, in hot weather, it should always be shaded. The soil should be fertile, with a pH of 5.8 to 6.5.
