Product Description - Camassia Alba
The Camassia 'Alba' is a graceful and luminous choice for any gardener looking to add elegant vertical lines and pristine white blooms to their spring-to-summer display. As a member of the quamash or wild hyacinth family, this reliable perennial is prized for its tall, slender spikes carrying a profusion of star-shaped white flowers that open in sequence from bottom to top. Its naturalistic charm and exceptional resilience make it a standout in wildflower meadows, woodland borders, and late-spring arrangements.
Key Features
- Appearance: Tall, upright spikes adorned with numerous star-shaped, pure white blossoms featuring delicate yellow stamens that create a sparkling effect against the green foliage.
- Versatility: Excellent for naturalistic landscape designs—thriving in damp meadows, rain gardens, or woodland edges—and works wonderfully as a long-lasting, elegant cut flower.
- Planting: Performs exceptionally well in full sun to partial shade, adapting easily to moist, heavier soils where many other spring bulbs struggle.
- Durability: Renowned for its hardy nature, exceptional perennial longevity, and reliable ability to return and expand naturally year after year.

How to Plant - Camassia Alba
Planting and care instructions
For best results, plant this category at the recommended depth and grow it in a suitable location.
- Planting: Plant in autumn in fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Place them 10–15 cm deep and 10–15 cm apart, with the pointed side up.
- Light & location: Grow in sun or partial shade.
- Watering: Water after planting and keep the soil moderately moist, but avoid waterlogging.
- After flowering: Let the foliage die back naturally after flowering so the plant can store energy for the next season.
- Feeding & care: Add compost or organic mulch in spring to supply nutrients and help the soil retain moisture.
- Useful tip: Leave plants undisturbed to naturalise; divide overcrowded clumps after the foliage has died back.
