Product Description - Corydalis Purple Bird
The Corydalis 'Purple Bird' is a charming herbaceous perennial that brings a vibrant accent to your spring garden. With its expressive tubular purple flowers and tender fern-like leaves, 'Purple Bird' provides color diversity for years to come. This plant is an excellent choice for planting in partial shade or dappled light, adding spring color to spots where other flowers may struggle to grow.
The flowers typically bloom in April–May, held in clusters on short stems that rise above the soft, fern-like foliage. After blooming, the foliage dies back in the summer, leaving a tidy aesthetic footprint. Due to its compact height of up to 20 cm, 'Purple Bird' is ideal for rock gardens, borders, or containers, and it pairs beautifully with other Corydalis varieties, dwarf daffodils, grape hyacinths (Muscari), and dwarf tulips.

- Light & location: Grow in partial shade or light shade.
- Watering: Water after planting and keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
- After flowering: Cut back spent stems after flowering and mulch if needed to conserve moisture.
- Feeding & care: Add compost or organic mulch in spring to supply nutrients and help the soil retain moisture.
- Useful tip: Mark the planting spot, as the foliage often disappears completely when the plant enters dormancy.
