About Crocus King of the Striped Bulbs and Flowers

Crocus King of the Striped is a special variety of crocus that stands out with its unique and captivating appearance. Each bloom boasts delicate white petals adorned with striking violet-blue stripes, creating a stunning contrast that is both timeless and enchanting. These charming flowers are perfect for those looking to add a touch of elegance and sophistication to their garden.

How to plant Crocus King of the Striped?

Plant your Crocus King of the Striped in potting mix with the top third of the bulb sticking up out of the soil. Place the pot near a bright window, where it can receive a lot of sunlight. When the bulb sprouts, begin watering regularly around the bulb. After sprouting, turn the pot regularly, because stalks will grow toward the sunlight.

Flowering Period

One of the most appealing aspects of Crocus King of the Striped is its early blooming period. These beautiful flowers typically begin to emerge in late winter to early spring, just when the garden is waking up from its winter slumber. Their arrival is a sign that brighter and warmer days are ahead, making them a symbol of hope and renewal.

Guide and tips for planting Iris Perennials Bare-Root Plants

  • Prepare the soil: Iris plants prefer well-drained soil with a pH level of 6.0 to 7.0. Amend the soil with compost or organic matter to improve the soil's fertility and drainage.

  • Choose the planting location: Select a spot that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Avoid planting in areas with standing water or where the soil remains soggy after rainfall.

  • Dig a hole: Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots of the plant. The hole should be shallow, only about 4 cm deep, and wide enough to spread the roots out.

  • Place the bare-root plant in the hole: Gently spread the roots out and place the plant in the hole. The top of the rhizome, the thickened root-like stem, should be visible above the soil surface. Backfill the hole with soil and press down firmly to eliminate air pockets.

  • Water the plant: Give the plant a thorough watering after planting to settle the soil around the roots. Continue to water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist until the plant becomes established.

  • Mulch the plant: Add a layer of organic mulch around the plant to help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Keep the mulch a few inches away from the base of the plant to prevent rot.

  • Monitor the plant: Keep an eye on the plant's growth and water it regularly as needed. Iris plants generally bloom in late spring to early summer and benefit from occasional fertilization throughout the growing season.
