Deutzia planting instructions and tips

• Choose a sunny to partially shady spot in your garden with well-draining soil.

• Dig a hole that is two times as wide and slightly deeper than the root ball of the deutzia plant.

• Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

• Place the deutzia plant in the hole and fill the hole halfway with soil.

• Gently tamp the soil down and water thoroughly.

• Add the remaining soil and firm it around the base of the plant.

• Water the plant again and add a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

• Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

• Prune the deutzia plant in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches.

• Fertilize the plant with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and midsummer.

• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
