Planting and care instructions

For best results, plant this category at the recommended depth and grow it in a suitable location.

• Planting: Plant in spring or autumn in very well-drained soil. Spread the fleshy roots over a small mound and place the crown 5–8 cm below the soil surface.
• Light & location: Grow in full sun.
• Watering: Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
• After flowering: Protect the crown from winter wet and avoid disturbing the roots once planted.
• Feeding & care: Feed lightly in early spring as growth starts; avoid rich amendments that hold too much moisture.
• Useful tip: Tall flower spikes may need support; a sheltered position helps prevent wind damage.

To guarantee the best result and quality of our plants and bulbs, we dispatch all our orders at the right planting period. We monitor harvests in The Netherlands and weather conditions across Europe and start shipping our orders according to the following schedule:

• Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 23 March until 1 July.
• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
