Tigre Blue is a wonderful houseplant, characterised by a fairly long blooming period, which begins in March and lasts until October. Its remarkable feature is large bright flowers with yellowish middle and white petals with deep purple edging and same-coloured blotches. Up to twenty buds can bloom on a single plant at a time, demonstrating its considerable decorative potential. As it originates from Brazil, it prefers warm, well-lit and moist soil with drainage; the soil should be breathable. The tubers should be planted in wide pots with a diameter of 9 to 15 centimetres. The plant is not frost-resistant, so full development and flowering are only possible in comfortable room conditions.
