Planting & Care Instructions

Daylilies (Hemerocallis) are extremely reliable, low-maintenance perennials perfect for borders, mass planting, and effortless summer color. Fully hardy and adaptable, they produce vibrant blooms season after season.

• Planting time: Plant bare-root plants in autumn from September to November or in spring from March to May. Flowering time generally occurs from June to August.
• Preparation: Unpack bare roots promptly. If roots appear dry, soak them in lukewarm water for 1–2 hours prior to planting.
• Position & soil: Choose a position in full sun to partial shade. Plant in well-drained soil; daylilies are highly adaptable to most soil types.
• Planting depth & spacing: Spread roots outward and plant with crowns approximately 2–3 cm below the soil surface. Space plants 40–60 cm apart.
• Watering: Water thoroughly after planting to establish root growth. Daylilies are drought-tolerant once fully established.
• Growing in containers: Daylilies can be grown in large containers with adequate drainage holes using a rich, well-draining potting mix.
• After flowering: Remove spent flower stalks to keep the plant neat and encourage foliage health. Cut back dead leaves in late autumn or early spring.
• Returning each year: Fully hardy perennials that multiply over time and return reliably year after year.

• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
