Kingsize is a large species of ornamental hosta. Just one shrub can decorate a plot to a height of 47 cm and a width of about 100 cm. The leaves are considered the real jewel of the plant. Heart-shaped with pronounced veining, the leaves point upwards. Their mauve-green colouring is eye-catching and this large plant, which appears in the garden in spring and goes dormant at the end of autumn, can be used as a stand-alone plant or as a complement to a large flower bed. The Kingsize will look great in pots and next to paths.
Appearance
A truly royal plant begins to flower in midsummer. The bell-shaped buds with closely spaced, light lilac petals are attached to a tall flower stalk. The flowers open in a wave-like pattern. Flowering lasts until the end of summer.
Height of the plant: 47 cm
Flowering period: July-August
Height of the flower stalk: up to 120 cm
Colour: white-lilac
Despite its majestic appearance, it has modest needs. A planting location with loose soil, semi-shade and regular watering is all that's required. The variety overwinters uncovered and sheds all of its greenery before doing so. In spring, the hosta regains its growth and will continue to grace gardens for many years to come.
