Product Description - Hosta Regal Splendor
Hosta 'Regal Splendor', bred in 1987. A herbaceous long-lived ornamental deciduous plant of indescribable beauty. The bush is 75-90 cm high, 90 cm wide and consists of a variety of leaves. Leaf blade, 28 x 17 cm, dense, matt grey-blue, irregularly fringed, yellow to creamy-white with greyish streaks, with closely spaced veins; the edge is wavy. The leaf is curved, oval, with a sharp tip (drip) and tapering lobes (base). Flowers lavender on a tall flower stalk up to 150 cm. Grows rapidly. Flowering time July-August, blooming for 2-3 weeks. The plant is winter-hardy, but we recommend mulching for the winter. The plant is highly valued for its highly decorative bushes. It is practically not affected by diseases and pests. The variety is resistant to slugs. It will bear down to -40 °C. The wavy hosta is sun-tolerant.
A suitable location for planting is in the penumbra or sun, but without direct sunlight at lunchtime. Ideal location: 2-3 hours sun in the morning, shade at lunchtime, penumbra or 2-3 hours sun in the afternoon. Species with delicate, delicate leaves cannot withstand direct sunlight. Dense shade will not suit hostas, especially those with a leaf pattern. It's not that hostas don't grow in the shade - they do - but they don't reveal their full beauty (the leaves will stretch out, become smaller and the varietal colouring won't show). Hostas can grow in all types of fertile soil. But it is best if the soil is moist, slightly acidic or neutral with good water permeability and a high humus content. Hostas are ideal border plants. They can be planted in tree and shrub borders, in garden vases and tubs or on paths. They can grow in one place for more than 10 years.

Guide and tips for planting Hosta Bare-Root Plants
