Hyacinths include up to thirty species that grow mainly in Mediterranean countries. The most famous species is the oriental hyacinth. It grows in Syria and Lebanon, southern Turkey and Greece, and Dalmatia, where it blooms from early spring. The colour blue is a symbol of calmness, tranquillity and contemplation. It visually brings a sense of space. The perception of blue varies depending on the degree of illumination. So in the shade, partial shade and at dusk, it is deep blue, and in good light, it seems purple. Blue flowers are the most scarce plants. That is why they are the most popular in every flower garden.
