Hyacinth Sweetheart (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Sweetheart'). New! This hyacinth is intended primarily for growing in greenhouses for industrial purposes. It is of hybrid origin. It was bred in Holland. Originator: Rooijakkers Breezand BV. This variety, which translates as "Beloved", is sure to please you. Its colour is two-tone - light pink contrasts effectively with deep pink. The flowers of this hyacinth resemble sweet candies.
It has dense inflorescences of bell-shaped flowers. They are pink in colour with lighter edges. They look like little stars. It seems that this variety was specially created for connoisseurs of true beauty!
Its peduncle is about 20-25 cm tall. The flowers are bell-shaped, numerous, large (up to 35 pieces), in a dense inflorescence. The size of the flower is 3.5-4 cm in diameter and the same or slightly longer in length. This variety is distinguished not only by its beauty but also by its most delightful aroma. The flowers have a strong and persistent sweet aroma. The inflorescence is a dense brush, spherical-cylindrical in shape. The peduncle is strong. Flowers bloom in mid-spring. This variety blooms for a long time, up to three weeks. The leaves are linear, smooth, grooved, blue-green, collected in basal rosettes of 9 pieces. Their size is from 10 to 30 cm long. This hyacinth is intended for outdoor cultivation, but is not ready for early flowering indoors. It is also used for cutting.
Sweetheart is a charming variety. It is an excellent choice for garden decoration or for creating a flower arrangement. It will add brightness to gloomy corners. It will look great in the spring and fill your home with its wonderful aroma. Prefers sunny places or partial shade, with protection from the winds. The flowering period is April.
