Product Description - Hyacinth White Pearl
White pearl hyacinth (Dutch Hyacinth, Hyacinthus orientalis 'White Pearl'). New! This is an oriental hyacinth with double flowers. It is a medium early bloomer. It was bred back in 1878 in Holland. 'White Pearl' is an incredibly beautiful flower. To be honest, the photos do not do it justice. You have to see it bloom for yourself!
Appearance
The name of the variety sounds like "White Pearl". And it really lives up to its name. The peduncle is about 30 cm tall. The flowers are double, bell-shaped, numerous (up to 35 pieces), in a dense inflorescence. Their colour is snow-white or ivory. The size of the flower is 3.5-4 cm in diameter and the same or slightly longer. The flowers have a strong and persistent sweet aroma. The inflorescence is a dense, spherical-cylindrical shape, 10-15 cm high. This variety blooms for a long time, up to three weeks. The leaves are linear, smooth, grooved, blue-green, collected in basal rosettes of 9 pieces. Their size is from 10 to 30 cm long.
The unique terry variety is an excellent choice for decorating a garden or creating a flower arrangement. It is ideal for forcing. It will look great in winter or early spring and will fill your home with its wonderful aroma. It prefers sunny places or partial shade, with protection from the winds. The flowering period is early to mid-spring. This antique variety has survived the test of time and impresses with its beauty today, as it did a hundred years ago!

How to Plant - Hyacinth White Pearl
Planting & Care Instructions
Hyacinths are hardy spring-flowering bulbs valued for their dense, highly fragrant flower spikes. They are ideal for borders, flower beds, pots, balcony boxes and indoor forcing in hyacinth glasses.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Hyacinths generally flower from April to May, depending on the variety and local climate.
- Position & soil: Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Plant in rich, loose and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For hyacinth bulbs, size 15/16 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart.
- Watering: Water lightly after planting to settle the soil. During active growth, keep the soil moderately moist when necessary, but avoid waterlogging.
- Growing in pots & forcing: Use containers with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. For forcing in a hyacinth glass, position the bulb above the water so that the base of the bulb does not remain submerged.
- After flowering: Remove faded flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Hyacinths can return and flower in following years when grown in suitable conditions. Over time, flower spikes may become slightly smaller or less dense than in the first season.
