Product Description - Hyacinth Woodstock
Woodstock is a hyacinth that instantly attracts attention. The early red-purple flower has a certain mystery that attracts the eye. It differs from ordinary varieties by its fluffy buds and long flowering.
Appearance and aroma
The general appearance of the plant and the colour of the leaves are practically the same as other hyacinth varieties. The leaves are collected in a basal rosette, have a dark green hue and gloss. The sword-shaped leaves "part" to make way for a powerful stem with many buds. When the flower blooms, it releases not only a warm colour but also a sweet sparkling aroma.
The buds are bell-shaped, gathering in inflorescences and containing a mystery. If you look closely, the answer is on the surface. Woodstock is a hyacinth that is distinguished by the number of petals in a bud. Each flower is made up of six petals rather than the classic five.

How to Plant - Hyacinth Woodstock
Planting & Care Instructions
Hyacinths are hardy spring-flowering bulbs valued for their dense, highly fragrant flower spikes. They are ideal for borders, flower beds, pots, balcony boxes and indoor forcing in hyacinth glasses.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Hyacinths generally flower from April to May, depending on the variety and local climate.
- Position & soil: Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Plant in rich, loose and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For hyacinth bulbs, size 15/16 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart.
- Watering: Water lightly after planting to settle the soil. During active growth, keep the soil moderately moist when necessary, but avoid waterlogging.
- Growing in pots & forcing: Use containers with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. For forcing in a hyacinth glass, position the bulb above the water so that the base of the bulb does not remain submerged.
- After flowering: Remove faded flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Hyacinths can return and flower in following years when grown in suitable conditions. Over time, flower spikes may become slightly smaller or less dense than in the first season.
