Hydrangea planting instructions and tips

• Choose a suitable location: Hydrangeas prefer partially shaded areas with well-draining soil. Avoid planting them in areas with full sun or where the soil remains constantly wet.

• Prepare the soil: Dig a hole that is twice as wide and deep as the root ball of the hydrangea plant. Mix in some compost or well-rotted manure to enrich the soil and improve its drainage.

• Plant the hydrangea: Gently remove the plant from its container and place it in the center of the hole. The top of the root ball should be level with the surrounding soil. Backfill the hole with the soil mixture and lightly tamp it down.

• Water the plant: Give the newly planted hydrangea a deep watering to settle the soil around the roots. Water it regularly, especially during hot and dry weather.

• Mulch around the plant: Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant to help retain moisture in the soil and suppress weeds.

• Care for the plant: Hydrangeas require regular care, including pruning, fertilizing, and pest control. Follow the recommended guidelines for your specific hydrangea variety to ensure its optimal growth and health.

• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
