Strong stems hold the flowers clearly above sword-like foliage, making it a confident feature for sunny borders, gravel-style planting, and mixed perennial beds, with stems that also suit cutting. Its deep wine-and-purple tones pair beautifully with pale companions such as white alliums, silver foliage, or soft pink perennials for a balanced, high-contrast effect.
