Lilium Star Gazer
Product Description
What sets this lily apart from other Oriental lilies? This lily has large, showy, brightly coloured flowers. But they are all facing upwards (hence the name). It blooms earlier than many other Oriental lilies. The flowers appear in mid-summer. Each flower stalk produces 4-12 flowers. They are fascinating with an elegant combination of pink, red, white and long stamens with heavy orange anthers. Each flower consists of 3 petals and 3 sepals of satin structure, which are very similar to each other. It also boasts a strong, pleasant fragrance. The flower size is 15 cm in diameter.
Height of the plant: 90-120 cm
Flower diameter: 15 cm
This strain will grow in fertile, well-drained and well-moistened soil. All soils will do, even heavy clay soils. The location should be sunny or slightly shady. It is also frost-resistant to 35 °C. A reliable plant! Looks lovely in flowerbeds as well as in cuttings. Looks best in groups of 3-5 (or more). It will need a support. The pollen from this lily may stain clothing and skin. So if you want to use it in bouquets, cut off the anthers. The plant is 90-120 cm tall (although some 180 cm can be found).

How to Plant
Guide and tips for plantinglilium(lily) bulbs
-
Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
-
Dig a hole that is 2-3 times deeper than the height of the bulb.
-
Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.
-
Place the bulb in the hole with the pointed end facing up.
-
Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb.
-
Water the soil until it is evenly moist.
-
Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
-
Water the bulb regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.
-
As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.
-
After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
