Product Description - Lily Conca d'Or
Large yellow oriental lilies are hard to find on sale. But breeders have given us this charming variety. It has a flower shape more like its Oriental parent. It also has the same flowering period - a late bloomer. It is known for its spicy scent and wide open, outward-facing flowers. It appears to be the same light yellow colour as the Casa Blanca variety. The flowers are exceptionally large, with wavy edges and dark contrasting stamens. The petals are pale yellow in colour with milky white edges. The throat is a light green colour. The flowers "look" sideways or downward. The size of the flower is astonishing, ranging from 15 to 30 cm! This lily produces more flowers on strong stems as it matures. The flowers attract bees and butterflies.

Conca D'or grows in nutritious, loose, moist soil with good drainage. It prefers acidic soils. In the landscape it can be grown in locations with good light or light shade, with protection from winds. Frost-resistant to -29 °C. This cultivar will be highly tolerant of frost.
This lily is excellent in the garden and as a cut flower. Ideal for growing in a container. This plant will increase in size, number of buds and flower size every year. So be prepared for it to grow taller and more lush! Looks best in group plantings. Needs to be supported. Planting distance: for small bulbs: 22-30 cm, medium-sized bulbs 30-38 cm and large bulbs 38-45 cm. Plant height: approx. 180-240 cm. The flowering period is mid-summer to early autumn.

How to Plant - Lily Conca d'Or
Guide and tips for plantinglilium(lily) bulbs

Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.

Dig a hole that is 2-3 times deeper than the height of the bulb.

Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

Place the bulb in the hole with the pointed end facing up.

Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist.

Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Water the bulb regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
