Product Description - Lily (Lilium) Chartwell
Lily (Lilium) 'Chartwell' is a striking Oriental hybrid with rich fuchsia‑pink flowers edged in clean white and accented with fine dark speckling. The large blooms reach about 15–20 cm across and have a strong, pleasant fragrance. With sturdy, upright stems, it stands out as a true centerpiece for summer borders. Its vivid two-tone coloring makes it especially eye-catching when planted in groups or paired with dark-leaved perennials. The bright pink-and-white contrast reads as especially crisp in evening light, when the flowers seem to “glow” in the border.
Plants typically grow 100–120 cm (39–47 inches) tall and flower in July–August. Grow it in full sun or light partial shade in fertile, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, planting the bulbs about 15–20 cm deep. For best flowering and healthier bulbs, keep the soil evenly moist during active growth, but avoid waterlogging, especially in heavy soils. It’s also excellent for cutting, staying fresh in bouquets for around 10–14 days. After flowering, let the foliage die back naturally so the bulb can recharge for an even stronger display next season.
