Lily White Twinkle - flower bulbs and perennial plants from Holland

A very delicate lily from the Asian Hybrids section (some sources indicate that it is a tiger lily). It was introduced to the market in 2000. Originator: Laan Lelies N. Registrar: Lico Export B.V. The name of this lily is translated as 'white light'. And it really lives up to its name. The large, milky white flowers with yellow-green veins at the base, yellow-green throat and fine mottled reddish-brown flowers.

Appearance
The White Twinkle lily is a classic Asian lily. It's extremely sturdy and will grow to a height of approximately 100-140cm. The flowers reach up to 17 cm in diameter and 'look' outwards. Each flower has three petals and three sepals, which are very similar to each other. The petals and sepals are satin-textured and have spectacularly twisted ends. The flowers appear at the top of the tall stem. They are clustered in inflorescences of several. The nectaries are white, pubescent. The stigma is dark red. The pollen is bright orange. Leaves are alternate, glossy, dark green. It blooms early to mid-summer. It blooms 95 days after planting. It is very hardy, being able to withstand temperatures down to -40 °C.

Asiatic hybrids are highly soil and climate hardy lilies that tolerate cold winters. An important feature is their varied range of colours. Here you can see pure lilies, both bright colours and variations of pastel, as well as bicolours and mottled lilies. This group brings together species found in Asia that were later crossed with each other. Asian hybrids are characterised by early flowering. This group includes the most disease-resistant lily hybrids - hence they are highly prized by florists and are widely cultivated. The lilies in this group of Asiatic hybrids bloom in late June and July. They prefer sunny positions but also grow well in semi-shade. This variety is ideal for growing in backyards and borders. It looks beautiful in cuttings. Great for planting in containers. Looks best in groups of 3-5.

Lily bulbs should be planted in spring or autumn in well-prepared soil. Select a sunny location with good drainage and moderate humidity. As a rule, plant the lily bulbs to a depth that is approximately twice the height of the bulb. Large bulbs should be planted about 15-20 cm deep and shallow bulbs about 10-15 cm deep. The approximate planting distance should be approximately 30 cm. With proper care, your efforts should be rewarded with fabulous annual blooms. Note that the number of buds depends directly on the size of the bulb.
