Narcissus (Daffodil) My Story
Narcissus (Daffodil) My Story - flower bulbs and perennial plants from Holland
Product Description - Narcissus (Daffodil) My Story
Double Daffodil, Double Narcissus 'My Story'. New! This double daffodil has bicoloured flowers that create a fascinating show in the garden. It blooms in early to mid-season. A beautiful specimen from the Double Daffodil group (Division 4 - Double). The variety was registered in 2005. Originator: Murray Evans, Oregon, United States. Hybrid origin.
Distinctive characteristics:
- Low flowering stem (up to 30 cm tall);
- Large flowers, 9.5 cm in diameter;
- Perianth leaves (lobes) and other petaloid segments are white;
- Crown orange-pink, with numerous segments, along with petaloid segments inside.
Appearance
Impressive flowers of large size with several layers of petals. In addition, the crown is strongly corrugated. The flowers stay on the stem for up to 3 weeks and appear very early in spring. The foliage is narrow, blue-green. This daffodil was awarded the AGM 2009 honorary award. The Terry daffodil group includes varieties from different groups with different shapes, sizes and colours of flowers. They can be single or collected in inflorescences-bouquets. One flower can have twice the number of perianth lobes (petals) or twice the number of crown segments (double crown), or both. In addition, these can be both tall daffodils (more than 50 cm in height) and dwarf daffodils (about 30 cm in height), both large-flowered (8 cm or more in diameter) and small-flowered (about 3.5 cm in diameter). The same variety is a dwarf. It grows in well-lit places with protection from strong winds. Requires drainage. It can also grow in partial shade under the crowns of trees. For greater effect, it is better to plant it in groups.
Suitable for multi-coloured beds, mixed flower beds, used for borders and rockeries. It is cultivated in pots, tubs and flower boxes. In the landscape it looks good in the company of hyacinths, tulips, muscari, crocuses, pansies, daisies and forget-me-nots. It is ideal for premium quality cuts and is suitable for forcing.
We ship daffodil bulbs in September-October. They should be planted immediately to establish themselves and prepare for flowering. If this is not possible, store the bulbs on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator in a paper bag.
Attention: the daffodil bulbs are supplied in a perforated, breathable bag with a label. Build your own collection of daffodils in different colours, simple and double.
