Product Description - Narcissus (Daffodil) Prom Dance
Narcissus Prom Dance (Split-cupped Narcissus, Split-corona Daffodil, Butterfly Narcissus 'Love Call'). New! This is one of the exclusive varieties that you will definitely like. One of the best mid-flowering varieties, which belongs to the Split-crowned daffodils or Split-crown group (Division 11 - Split-cupped). Vanilla-white petals surround a lemon-yellow split crown. Everyone should see the bloom of this daffodil!
Appearance
This variety is very different from other daffodils! It grows up to 30-40 cm in height. The flowers of this daffodil are charming and look like a butterfly. They are large and spectacular, rising on strong stems. The crown (tube) is slightly shorter than or equal to the perianth lobes (petals). It is split by more than a third of its length. Its lobes are corrugated, usually bent with a ruffled edge and an eye in the centre. The perianth lobes are rounded, not bent back. The flowers are arranged horizontally and have a pleasant mild aroma. They bloom in the middle to late season and have a long flowering period (up to three weeks). Each peduncle produces 2-3 flowers. The size of the flower is 10-12 cm in diameter.
This daffodil is ideal for mass planting, for creating borders, for planting in containers and for cutting. It looks better in groups of 5-15. It is ideal for obtaining the highest quality cut, not only in open ground but also in greenhouses. It grows well in full sun or in patchy shade (requires at least three hours of full sun per day). The flowering period is April-May. This variety can withstand temperatures down to -35 ° C. Attention: daffodil bulbs are supplied in a perforated breathable bag with a label.

How to Plant - Narcissus (Daffodil) Prom Dance
Planting & Care Instructions
Daffodils are hardy spring-flowering bulbs ideal for borders, flower beds, rock gardens, pots and balcony boxes. They are easy to grow and, when planted in suitable conditions, can return and flower for many years.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Daffodils generally flower from April to May, depending on the variety and local climate.
- Position & soil: Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Plant in rich, loose and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For daffodil bulbs, size 12/14 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart.
- Watering: Water well after planting to settle the soil. During active growth, keep the soil lightly moist when necessary, but avoid waterlogging.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but leave the foliage in place until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Daffodils are well suited to naturalising and can multiply and return for many years when grown in suitable conditions and left undisturbed.
