Paeonia 'Moonlit Snow' is a breathtaking herbaceous peony, introduced by Roy Klehm in 2010, renowned for its massive, fully double, snow-white flowers that evoke the soft glow of moonlight. The bomb-type blooms, with hundreds of ruffled, silky petals forming a perfect sphere, measure up to 25 cm across and emit a subtle, sweet fragrance, making them ideal for cut flowers or as a focal point in borders. The pristine white petals contrast elegantly with the dark green, glossy foliage that turns bronze in fall, adding year-round interest.
This mid-season variety grows to a height of 70–90 cm (28–36 inches) with a spread of 60–80 cm (24–32 inches) and blooms from late spring to early summer (May–June), offering a luminous display for 2–3 weeks. 'Moonlit Snow' thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.5–7.5. Hardy in USDA Zones 3–8, it's low-maintenance once established, with excellent disease resistance and no need for staking due to its sturdy stems; plant buds 2–5 cm below soil level for best results.
