Red Karmen onion is an early ripe variety with a high yield. The bulbs are medium-dense, round-flat, two to three are rudimentary. Dry scales are purple in colour. Carmen onion with excellent taste gives an increased yield of up to 1.6 kg/sq.m. The ripening period from germination to yellowing of the leaves is 70-100 days. The height of the plant is 35 cm. The average bulb weight is 50-80 grams. It has a high content of vitamin C. Eating onions reduces cholesterol levels by almost 20%. The taste is mild, sweetish.

Onions are best planted in loamy fertile black soil with a neutral reaction. It should be noted that onions do not tolerate acidic soils. Best predecessors: cabbage, cucumber, potatoes, tomato, legumes. The planting depth of the bulbs should be 2.5 cm, at a distance of 5 cm from each other. When growing onions, the row spacing can be from 20 to 30 cm.
If necessary, feeding is done. To do this, use a special complex fertiliser containing the NRC complex. From mid-summer, feeding is stopped. Red Karmen onions are well stored throughout the winter.
