Product Description - Planting Onions Shakespeare
Like many onion varieties, Shakespeare is a wonderful onion belonging to the Amaryllis family.
Appearance
The bulb is large, rounded, yellow-brown. The onions are very juicy, snow-white, dense and have a semi-sharp taste. This winter variety is grown outdoors, preferably sown in October-November. The distance in the row should be 6-8 cm, and in the aisle - 40-45 cm. Harvested in the second half of May. This variety is distinguished by a high and high-quality yield - 250-350 kg / 1 hundred square metres.
Also, unlike other varieties, it is stored for a long time, has denser covering scales and does not shoot. Shakespeare onions are widely distributed throughout Ukraine and have a universal purpose.
In addition, this variety tolerates cold and is resistant to disease. It requires constant thinning and loosening of the soil, and also needs timely watering.

Planting and care instructions
For best results, plant this category at the recommended depth and grow it in a suitable location.
- Planting: Plant in spring or autumn in fertile, well-drained soil. Set the onion sets 2–3 cm deep and 5–10 cm apart, with the tip just above the soil.
- Light & location: Grow in full sun.
- Watering: Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
- After flowering: Harvest when the tops yellow and fall over, then dry the bulbs in an airy place before storage.
- Feeding & care: Feed lightly early in growth; avoid high-nitrogen fertilizer once the bulbs begin to swell.
- Useful tip: Keep the bed weed-free and reduce watering as the bulbs mature to help them ripen well.
