Planting and care instructions

For best results, plant this category at the recommended depth and grow it in a suitable location.

• Planting: Plant in spring or autumn in fertile, well-drained soil. Set the onion sets 2–3 cm deep and 5–10 cm apart, with the tip just above the soil.
• Light & location: Grow in full sun.
• Watering: Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
• After flowering: Harvest when the tops yellow and fall over, then dry the bulbs in an airy place before storage.
• Feeding & care: Feed lightly early in growth; avoid high-nitrogen fertilizer once the bulbs begin to swell.
• Useful tip: Keep the bed weed-free and reduce watering as the bulbs mature to help them ripen well.

To guarantee the best result and quality of our plants and bulbs, we dispatch all our orders at the right planting period. We monitor harvests in The Netherlands and weather conditions across Europe and start shipping our orders according to the following schedule:

• Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 23 March until 1 July.
• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
