Amaryllis Apple Blossom (Hippeastrum 'Apple Blossom'). Belongs to the Amaryllis family, genus Hippeastrum, group - Large-flowered Hippeastrum (Galaxy Group). It is of hybrid origin (Royal Dutch Hybrid Single Amaryllis). It was bred in 1954. A flower of royalty indeed! Surprises you with its blooms and makes you feel good. Its name can be translated as 'apple blossom'.
Beauty and fragrance
Apple Blossom is a bulbous perennial with showy flowers. If you're looking for something special, check out this amaryllis. The captivating flowers on sturdy stems with their pastel colours are just what you need! They are coloured creamy white with a delicate pink blush. The throat of the flower is a yellow-green colour. The petals are broad, corrugated, oblong-oval in shape. They are gathered in inflorescences, usually 2-6 flowers each. The flowers are fragrant, very reminiscent of perfume. The size of the flower is astonishing, up to 18 cm in diameter! The flower stalk is long, tubular. The leaves are glossy, strap-shaped, dark green. The bulb is fleshy, rounded and slightly elongated. It measures up to 10 cm in diameter. It produces one or two flower stalks. The plant is 30-50 cm tall. The flowering period is winter-spring (6-10 weeks after planting). P.S. Hippeastrum was first wrongly identified as Amaryllis Equestris by botanist Linnaeus. Linnaeus' error is the cause of worldwide confusion between 'Amaryllis' and 'Hippeastrum'.

How to Plant - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Apple Blossom
Guide and tips for planting amaryllis(hippeastrum) bulbs

Choose a pot that is at least 4 cm wider than the bulb and has drainage holes in the bottom.

Fill the pot with well-draining soil, leaving about 2 cm of space at the top.

Place the bulb in the center of the pot, with the pointed end facing up.

Cover the bulb with soil, leaving the top one-third of the bulb exposed.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist, but not waterlogged.

Place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight.

Water the plant only when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.

As the plant grows, support the stalk with a stake to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with bright, indirect sunlight.
