For lovers of houseplants, the amaryllis is a wonderful find. A beautiful bulbous plant with long, girdle-shaped leaves and a flower stalk up to 70 cm long, producing up to 12 flowers. This plant blooms in autumn but can be made to bloom at other times of the year if transplanted. Watering is restricted in winter and moderate in summer. When transplanting, small bulbs appear on the roots, which can be replanted in other pots. These babies grow quickly and will begin to flower in as little as three years.
