Product Description - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Double King
Amaryllis is a spectacular ornamental plant known for its large, bright flowers and ability to delight with flowering even in the cold season. Due to its unpretentiousness and durability, it is ideal for growing at home and for creating elegant flower arrangements. Amaryllis comes in a variety of shapes and shades, from pale pastel to rich and deep colors.
Double King is a true king among the terry amaryllis varieties. Its luxurious, large flowers of deep red color impress with the depth of the shade and the layering of the petals. The densely double structure gives the plant a majestic and elegant appearance, making it a bright accent in any interior or garden composition. The peculiarity of this variety is not only its spectacular appearance, but also a long flowering period, which allows you to enjoy its beauty for several weeks.
The strong peduncles of Double King can withstand the weight of lush inflorescences, and the plant itself does not require complicated care. For active growth and abundant flowering, it needs enough light, moderate watering and a dormant period after flowering. It is an ideal choice for those who want to add a touch of luxury and festive mood to their home or garden.

How to Plant - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Double King
Planting & Care Instructions
Amaryllis are stunning indoor-flowering bulbs ideal for indoor pots and as gorgeous cut flowers. They are easy to grow, produce long-lasting blooms, and feature a reusable bulb that can return and flower again when cared for properly.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs indoors from October to February. For best growth, place the pot in a warm room (20–25 °C). Amaryllis generally bloom from December to April, depending on the exact planting time.
- Position & soil: Choose a position that receives bright, indirect light. Plant the bulb in a rich, well-drained potting mix.
- Planting depth: Place the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. Plant shallowly so that the bulb is halfway above the soil surface.
- Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist once active growth begins, but strictly avoid overwatering to prevent the bulb from rotting.
- Growing in containers: Use indoor pots with proper drainage holes. Amaryllis prefer to be somewhat root-bound, so choose a pot that leaves just a few centimeters of space between the bulb and the edge of the pot.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but leave the foliage in place. Continue watering and providing bright light so the bulb can store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Because it is a reusable bulb, the Amaryllis can multiply or return to flower in subsequent years when left in suitable conditions and allowed a proper dormancy period.
